Meditation

Initial Thoughts on Meditating

Let’s start by defining wakefulness as when we are both conscious and able to move – essentially, the activities of awareness and movement (mind and body). Meditating, then, is,

The activity of intentionally slowing movement to investigate awareness.

And we can view meditation as a three-legged stool – composed of a posture, a practice, and engagement … where one’s posture is the physical sitting position, one’s practice is what one does while sitting, and engagement represents an over-arching approach to the entire process.

Whew. OK, that’s what meditation is. But why do it? Check out the video.
