Mini-Forms

Like most traditional martial arts the Seitei Jōdō system is built on the notion of kihon waza (basic techniques) and kata (forms). The basic techniques are taught (and learned) and practiced and then become the foundation for advanced forms. But in a real sense, within Seitei Jōdō only one of the twelve forms might be called extensive – that is, requiring more than a handful of deomonstrated skills. In fact, most of the forms require the demonstration of only one or two basic techniques. In order to put a little more meat on the bone, we have created nine mini-forms based on traditional martial arts concepts.
