Nihon Kendo Kata

Nihon Kendo Kata is a sword form created in the early 1900’s and studied by most sword schools worldwide. This form is not a fighting form but rather a study in structure – attention to details from beginning to end. To that end, it is a bit like meditation in motion. If meditation is slowing the world down while sitting, Nihon Kendo Kata is a matter of slowing the world down while moving. While spacing does come into play, we might easily claim that precision in movement and sword skills is paramount.
